On a windy night in Plano, it seemed someone would certainly end up under a house or over a rainbow.
The first full inning yielded 7 runs and when the dust settled, the Panthers found themselves trailing 4-3.
But, the new look offense took over from there, scoring 12 unanswered runs as East prevailed 15-4. Jeff Emens
recovered from a shaky first to pick up his 2nd win, allowing 4 hits and striking out 5. The Panthers hammered
out double-digit hits, with long balls by Logan Reneau and Tyler Wylie. Reneau also chipped in with a triple.
Emens, Connor Zmolik, and Nick Bell had multiple-hit nights. In the first 2008 meeting between the cross-town
rivals, the Wildcats battled nerves as well as the hot bats from East, committing several miscues. Along with
the run-rule win, the Panthers anticipate a difficult rematch -- east of Central on 4/18 – one which may
include playoff implications.
