"In order to excel, you must be completely dedicated to your chosen sport. You must also be prepared to work hard and be willing to accept destructive criticism. Without 100 percent dedication, you won't be able to do this"....Willie Mayes

Varsity season recap
PESH started the season strong winning the consolation bracket in the Lewisville tournament with a 4-1 record. They dropped tough non district game to Rowlett 3-2 but then went 3-3 in the Arlington Martin tournament with 2 of the losses coming by either 1 or 2 runs. A tough loss to Plano to open district was next followed by a 2-1 record in the Duncanville tournament. A loss to Jesuit at home dropped them into last place in district with a 0-2 record.
With a big hole to dig out of PESH needed to start winning district games and they pulled off wins against Wylie, then a thrilling walk off win vs. Plano West to give West their first loss of the season. Throw in a blowout non district win against McKinney then a one run win against Allen on the road and PESH was suddenly sitting at 4-2. A loss to McKinney Boyd sit up a huge game against Plano who was fighting for fourth place with PESH. East got behind early but would not quit and clawed back to beat the Cats to give them a game lead. They could not beat Jesuit and were locked into fourth place with a 5-4 record. Next up the boys from Texarkana came to town and PEsH sent them home with a loss. PESH had winless Wylie up next and needed to win this game to keep playoff hopes alive. Wylie struck fast and looked to be ready to get their first win along with dealing a blow to PESH playoff chances. However once again with their backs to the wall the Panthers would not quit and took this game into extra innings before being Wylie. PESH dropped a tight game 7-8 to West which set up a win and your in game with Allen for the final playoff spot. This time East took no chances and for the first time all year jumped out early on Allen and cruised all the way home for their 6th win ensuring them of a playoff spot. The playoffs did not go as planned East played South Grand Prairie and dropped two games ending their season.
The future does look bright as there is a strong group of Juniors, Sophomores and even a freshman playing roles for varsity this year. Throw in the talented freshmen at Williams and Clark and PESH should continue the playoff streak for the foreseeable future. While the Seniors fell short of their ultimate goal they can hold their heads high in the knowledge that they did their part to ensure PESH made the playoffs for the fifth straight year.
The Senior Class consisted of Nick Bell, Matt Ferris, Alex Harris, Brandon Howle, Tyler Johnson, Reid Landers, Josh Moore, Tucker Moorehouse, Trevor Pavelac, Kameron Wilding and Connor Zmolik. We wish all of these players good luck in the future endeavors and look forward to hearing more from the college careers of Nick Bell (Lon Morris), Alex Harris (Univ. of Kansas), Reid Landers (Stephen F. Austin) and Connor Zmolik (Howard College).

JV season recap
Without a doubt the 2010 PESH JV season had many individual highlights, but this year's success can be attributed directly to team efforts. The JV ended their season with a 15-9 overall record while going 7-4 in District play. They outscored their opponents 212-103. The pitchers were solid, worked hard, kept the team in every outing, and limited opponents to 4.3 runs per game. Defense as well, played a key part to this year's success. There were diving catches in the outfield, double plays in the infield, and timely outs that prevented a potentially bad inning. Offensively, the JV had a very strong season, evident in the 8.8 runs per game scored. The boys had clutch hits, big hits, effective bunts, and aggressive base running that gave opposing defenses more than they could handle. Team work was key for the JV squad and it looked like they were having fun in the process! Keep up the good work guys. See you next season!

Williams season recap
The 2010 Williams Warriors were a collection of talent that had played together and against each other through the years leading up to high school so an element of familiarity was in place. Almost every successful team has chemistry and Coach Quigley helped solidify the bond by organizing a work day before the season to remedy the Williams baseball field so the boys would have a place to practice. The Warriors, armed with both talent and chemistry won 7 of their first 9 games, including a 5-0 record in the City Championship Tournament. The Warriors finished the season with a 17-6 record (14-1 against other freshman teams) and had the best district record (9-1) as well. The Warriors were a nice blend of hitting, pitching and defense demonstrated by the fact that they outscored the opposition 223-117. The future is bright and the 2010 Williams Warriors are looking forward to keeping PESH strong for years to come.

Clark season recap
The Clark Cougars got off to a good start on the season winning 6 of their first 10 games including finishing second in the city championship. Unfortunatly the team, which came into the season with only thirteen players got bit hard by the injury bug and lost several key players down the stretch. Despite being short handed the team continued to play hard and the players are looking forward to next year. Coach Gil added a future Cougar to the mix as his wife gave birth to a new baby at the beginning of the season.
